As part of the fundraising efforts at Enactus Surrey we organise various events under the brand name Unique Events. These consist mostly of club nights, which we use as a tool for raising both money and awareness about our cause within the university community. All proceeds from such events go to fund our social projects, which means we, as the commercial team, work very closely with the social side of the society in order to meet the requirements in terms of funding needed throughout the year.
The Intern is a 5 week competition for business students with the ultimate prize of an Internship. The programme is similar to the BBC show ‘The Apprentice’, whereby teams of students compete against each other through various tasks every week. Each task is based around key business skills, including marketing, sales and innovation, aiming to test student’s business capabilities for a successful internship. The first task was based around money making and this generated over £1000 profit, which has gone towards funding our social projects.
Lost is a Jailbreak themed commercial event where teams are dropped to unknown city within the UK. The Challenge begins at midnight, from here you will be taken by coach from the University of Surrey to a mystery location over 200 miles away from Guildford and teams will have to find their way back.
This year our events have included sell out R&B club nights and this event is run between 3-4 times a semester. A major chuck of its proceeds help fund our social projects.
