Who are we?
We are a society at the University of Surrey and are a subsidiary of a not-profit organisation called Enactus United Kingdom, which is part of Enactus Worldwide. Together we are a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world.
What does that mean?
Enactus is about developing the entrepreneurial and enterprising skills of students in a way that benefits their future career and their community. Students from all subjects can take part and together they form their own University teams which they run themselves to develop projects that are sustainable and have economic benefits for others. Projects are aimed at improving the quality of life and standard of living of the target group by empowering them.
More than volunteering
The students involved have the support of Enactus Staff/Alumni, academics, a wide range of sponsor companies and receive free training to develop their skills as well as unique opportunities to take their career forward. A key example are the Regional, National and World Cup competitions that take place annually. They are aimed at developing the leadership skills of the students as well as providing a fantastic platform to meet other teams and share ideas in a culture of learning and developing from each other. Find out more about the support available to our members here.
